RIP

"I never make stupid mistakes. Only very, very clever ones." --John Peel

Hi and welcome back to "A Dare a Day!" Just a quick reminder that Friday April 2 will be the drawing for the free copy of "I Dare You" by William Danforth. Please read the previous post for details on how to get your free copy!

Today's post is going to be short and sweet. I am currently taking a wonderful writing workshop that posts daily writing prompts and creative journaling exercises for the participants. Today's prompt asked us to think about some things that are preventing us from realizing our dreams. The facilitator challenged us to create a way to celebrate the end of these things. Since I truly believe that all of our experiences are valuable, I don't view any experience as "wasted". I think if we learn from our experiences, they can be perfect ground for creating something even better.

The picture at the top of this post is what I created to depict the end of my own obstacles. The flowers represent what I hope to grow from my past experiences.

For today, I dare you to list at least four things (more if you'd like!) that you are to allow "laying to rest" because they are preventing you from becoming the person you want to be. Are you watching too much TV? Are you ignoring your health? What things are keeping you from your goals? Get creative with this and draw it, color it, paint it, sculpt it, whatever you do, just do it! Once you're done, keep it out somewhere to remind yourself of your intentions. This was a ton of fun for me so I hope you enjoy this as well!

Thanks for reading today and daring to dare!

Vickie - first and foremost I love this blog. I love the idea of dares...when you dare yourself and follow through you inevitably grow stronger, make life much more interesting and have such fun.

This post is great. Your piece is sensational and hearing the thought process behind it makes me love it even more!
